it seems ridiculous that Michael Phelps is getting so much flak from this supposed marijuana scandal... Since when have we taken the reporting of trashy tabloids so seriously?

I agree... I know people's livelihoods and jobs are involved, but unless these companies switch to all fuel-cell and all-hybrid cars, I think we cannot in good conscience save these companies. Everyone needs a bailout! I do! New Orleans did and it never got one! C'mon!

It is the solemn job of politicians to declare their brilliance and leadership when leading their countries to economic prosperity and equally their job to blame global macroeconomic forces beyond their control as being responsible for dragging down their economies from outside. The UK under the "leadership" of Boom/Bust Gordo is a perfect example of this.

This is only the beginning of what will be the worst global economic crisis we have seen in over 100 years. I believe this will ultimately be worse than the crash of 1929.

The gloom and doom is defeatest thinking! Oil dependnt jobs are most of the jobs leaving the county, production, manufacturing, yada yada, But a new market is emerging and on the rise so fast it will make your head spin. Anything green from solar, to bamboo sheets, to green building, and eco vacations,we don't need to retrieve old costly jobs we need to be reinventing the US workplace. Open new businesses and thrive. We don't need the government for that.....individual entrepreneurs can take the country back from the corporate giants who have left the country.....When their resources run out or become too expensive they will be left with nothing. What we do need to do in terms of the governmnet is to stop the billion dollar subsidies for the defector corporations. Let them leave and get China and India to subsidise them not the USA! We will be fine without them! Coke, Exxon, Dupont all these corporations are draining our economy and stripping us of jobs...lets not keep giving them money too!!!!!

China will get into a recession because the building boom was driven byt the Olympics and the sports venues and other buildings that needed to be finished. Another reason that China is down is that that index increased drastically. When you have a lot of novices leaving their jobs or trading and making money quickly they think it will last forever. It is not easy to trade. The smart money leaves the novices holding the bag.

I love this car, if it was just a hair bigger. I couldnt imagine trying to squeeze my family of four in that thing. We used to have a Geo Tracker, and we outgrew that really quickly. I do love the concept of this car though, just dont understand why they have to be so small.

I agree, how can this be a positive thing. They said the stock market actually rallied a bit on this news. Because it wasnt as bad as they expected, give me a break. So they guessed too high, we are supposed to feel more comfortable about the economy. Ok, whatever they say, I guess I will go on a spending spree, because it isnt as bad as they thought.

Its a shame so many people are having so much trouble getting a job. The employers can't hire people because they are having to pay extra money for other expenses.

This is good news. I'm a frequent currency monitor. For last 2 to 3 days, USD strengthen compared to all the pairs. Actually, this is a good news for all traders. I just hope it will continue to go back to its former rate.

As for oil $122 is a good news. Can we get $80/barrel again? At least, these oil crisis taught us a lessen to use oil wisely and look for alternative source of energy.
