Ken Griffey In Deep

Ken Griffey In Deep!

Ken Griffey Jr made the throat slash gesture after he hit his 607th career homer.  The gesture was made as he crossed home plate.  This is a huge shocker to everyone; Griffey isn’t this type of player.  I don’t believe he has ever done anything that got him in trouble.  He has been in the league since 1989.  Let’s not let this gesture destroy his very clean record.  At first everyone speculated that Griffey was making the gesture toward someone in the stands.  But later Hal McCoy confirmed that it was meant for Reds announcer Jeff Brantley.  I have no idea why, but will find out.  What Griffey should do is come out a say he’s sorry and we all should move on.  But I have no idea what the whole story is on this, so he may never say he’s sorry.

Favre No Show

Favre No Show!

I have read a few reports stating that Brett Favre didn’t report to the Green Bay Packers training camp Sunday.  The players we’re required to report by 7:30 am CDT.  Favre was reported stating that Packers general manager Ted Thompson had asked him for “a couple of days” to resolve the situation.  If he’s asking for a couple days that means in my opinion Farve is going to be traded.  Apparently my Vikings had messed things up and know he might be going with the New York Jets or Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I guess I will need to just sit and hope the Vikings emerge as a possible shot.

Favre And Vikings

Favre And Vikings!

If you already don’t know, I’m a Minnesota Vikings fan and would love to have Brett Favre join them.  But it looks like that’s not going to happen.  I the main reason is because Favre made contact with the Vikings while still under the Green Bay Packers contract.  The Packers have filed Remember tampering charges because of Favre making contact.  A lot of people thought it would be a hard case to prove.  But Favre made a big mistake; he contacted the Vikings with a Packers-issued cell phone.  What in the world was he thinking?  Now our chances of getting him may be total out the window.  More importantly, what where the Vikings thinking, they should have known better than that.  If we don’t get Farve the only people we need to blame are the top heads of the Vikings.  I’m still holding out that we will get him and final have a quarterback.

Arizona Cardinals Did What

Arizona Cardinals Did What!

It seems that the Arizona Cardinals are trying to limit the amount of tickets being sold to Dallas Cowboys fans. The Cardinals are now requiring fans who to buy tickets to the Dallas game on Oct. 12 as well to the Aug. 7 exhibition opener vs. New Orleans. The Cardinals are doing this because if you’re a Cowboy fan you’re not going to want to purchase both games. This will help the Cardinals created a decisive home-field advantage. They want to keep the home field advantage like they have done the past two years. If I where a Cowboy fan I would not be happy about this. But the Cardinals team spokesman Mark Dalton likes the idea. He also said, “this way will discouraging single-game ticket sales to Dallas Cowboys fans. Our goal is to have as many Cardinals fans in the stadium as possible. Apparently this hasn’t help with ticket sales though. So far the ticket sales are 3,000 behind. Go luck on getting all those tickets sold.

Padraig Harrington Wins

Padraig Harrington Wins!

Padraig Harrington wins the British Open by a four shot lead. To win by four in a major tournament is really great. I did know that Harrington won the British Open last year, but I didn’t know he was the first European in more than a century to win two years is a row. I have to be honest here, when I knew Phil Mickelson was out of it I was pulling for Greg Norman. But today wasn’t his day; he just made to many mistakes in the final round. Harrington did say, “I enjoyed the claret jug so much I didn’t want to give it back.” The thing about Harrington is that he didn’t even think he was going to be able to play because of his wrist. Any way, great job to Harrington, he’s a great player.
