The Fan

The Fan!

Here’s some pretty cool news I read about not to long ago. The New York Jets decided to give one of their #1 fans a game ball after they beat the New England Patriots, not their playoff win, it was a regular season game. The Jets Head coach presented the ball during the teams meeting. The ball was given to Ed Anzalone, a New York City firefighter for getting the crowed pump to rattle Tom Brady during the game. Just like any other team in the NFL, fans can help win games. And for dome team’s, their hard to beat. Anyway, this is the first time in NFL history a fan was given a game ball for keeping the crowd involved, which is cool. I could be wrong about my last statement, but I’ve never heard or read this happening before. So I say, next time you visit new york, ask around to see how many people know about this.

Wins Again

Wins Again!

Lastly it seemed that Tiger Woods has been losing the respect of his pro golf buddies. But that wasn’t the case today when he was voted the PGA Tour player of the year by the players. This makes number 10 in his 13 years on tour. I read that this award will net him $10.5 million. He won 9 events after making his come back, but no majors. He was the points leader, which earning him the FedEx Cup, which paid him $10 million. Know that he’s won everything, including the kitchen sink, how much of the money will his wife take when she leaves him. He’s going to have to pay his wife a ton of money for support when she walks. I think she already agreed to a set amount, but now there’s kids involved. So for the most part, he’s going to be paying to keep the kids looking protected. He ruined his life, he will never be the same. And if his wife leaves, he’s going to look worst. He did this to himself, he deserves everything that happens to him.

MLB Free Agents

MLB Free Agents!

Now that the MLB season is over, free agent players can now file to look for other teams to play for. The 2 big ones hunting for a new contract are World Series MVP Hideki Matsui, and team mate Johnny Damon, both New York Yankees. Both players are in their mid 30’s, so both will be fighting for the DH role. Some think that Damon is the better choice, but at this point who knows. Both guys are going to need to get their Kettlebells out of the closet and start working out. Because the Yankees are only looking for the fittest players. As for other free agents, totaling over 150 players, they too need to be in top shape. MLB teams will only sign top fit players, fiscally and mentally. Most of these players will find teams to play for, but their pay could be much lower, after all their getting older and slower. Only a hand full will end up making more, but not much more. What I do know, or think, the Yankees will either take Hideki Matsui or Johnny Damon, not both. Mostly because their both in their mid 30’s, and getting slower. For most of these players we won’t know their fate for about 2 months, so we’ll have to wait to see how everything plays out.

Dallas Cowboys TV

Dallas Cowboys TV!

The $40 million dollar TV screen above the Dallas Cowboys field will be able to hang right where it is for this year. There has been concern that the screen hangs to low, even though it’s 5 feet higher than the league states. This screen is 60 yards long and hangs 90 feet off the ground. During last weeks game the screen was hit a few times during kicking practice, and once during the game. But no mater what happen NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the screen can stay right where it’s at. I wonder if it would cost a lot of money for Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner to have it moved up. But then again money must mean very little to him considering he spent $40 million on a TV screen. Maybe he was sending a statement, things are bigger in Texas.
