Rev Jesse Jackson

Rev. Jesse Jackson!

The only thing I have to say on a story I came across on Yahoo is WOW. It appears that Rev. Jesse Jackson used the N-word during a break in a TV interview. During this same interview he was criticizing presidential candidate Barack Obama. This story was confirmed by Fox News on Wednesday. I find this very hard to believe coming from a man that has pushed so hard to have the N-word removed from the entertainment industry, including rappers, actors and studios. He also has asked people to boycott purchasing DVD copies of the TV sitcom “Seinfeld” because of what Michael Richards was taped using the word. Here’s what Jackson has stated in a statement “I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologize again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public. There really is no justification for my comments and I hope that the Obama family and the American public will forgive me. I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people.” Also coming out of Jackson’s civil rights organization, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, stated that they could not confirm that Jackson used the slur. Well, it’s on tape, and tapes don’t lie. This will differently hart him for a long time to come.

U.S. History

U.S. History!

For the very first time in U.S. history a woman could become a four-star general.  This promotion/nomination comes only from the President of the United States.  Then it’s up to the U.S. Senate to confirm her.  If the Senate confirms Lt. Gen. Ann E. Dunwoody, she will head up the Army Materiel Command, which is responsible for equipping, outfitting and arming soldiers in the Army.  I think this is great news coming out of the Army.  Heck, after all we almost had a woman for President.  Things are changing around us everyday, some for the better, some for the worst.  This change is definitely for the better.  And I say good luck on getting confirmed from the Senate.  Here’s a little side note I didn’t know about.  Did you know that by law, the Army is only limited to 11 active-duty four-star generals?  I had no clue this was so, did you?

Offshore Drilling

Offshore Drilling!

Bush is asking Congress to lift bans so we can start more offshore drilling. This step by President Bush is because even he thinks $4 plus a gallon is to high for Americans to pay. Here’s what I think, by lifting this ban - what short-term affects would this be for us? I honestly have no idea how this will all play out. What we really need to be doing is forcing OPEC to increase outage. Now that would have an immediately fix to the problem. Although lifting the ban would in my opinion help us down the road. I also feel that the ban will not be lifted, because the Democrat’s and Bush can never agree on anything. That is the true reason why American’s today have so many problems, our politicians. There a bunch of pencil pushing jerks that have no clue what us true Americans are going through. Yes, all politicians, I sick of all of them!

John McCain VS Barack Obama

John McCain VS Barack Obama!

Let the race began.  Who will win is anyone’s guess.  I personally don’t have an opinion on who should be our next President.  The only thing I want is to see us out of these hard times we’re in.  If we can get these gas prices under control everything else will follow.  The cost of food is up, because of high gas prices.  The stock market is out of control, again, because of gas prices.  The two main focus points of the next President should be, lowering the price of oil and getting us out of this war.  If he can do that, we would be much better off.
