Online Shopping!

This holiday season is getting ready to start for most online retailers, as well as big box stores. Most of us will be running to the malls to get those big deals, and others will stay home and shop online. I reading that a few online retailers had double digit percent increase over last year during the Holiday season. And shopping at the malls where down by a few points. So I would have to say that it wasn’t as bad as a lot of analysts thought it was going to be. And most of the online sales where for things like the Nintendo Wii game console’s and LCD tvs. It seems that you can purchase just about anything online these days, if your willing to pay the shipping costs. If you purchased online last year the chances are you’ll be doing it again this year. So get geared up and ready for another year of shopping, the economy is needs it.

MLB Free Agents

MLB Free Agents!

Now that the MLB season is over, free agent players can now file to look for other teams to play for. The 2 big ones hunting for a new contract are World Series MVP Hideki Matsui, and team mate Johnny Damon, both New York Yankees. Both players are in their mid 30’s, so both will be fighting for the DH role. Some think that Damon is the better choice, but at this point who knows. Both guys are going to need to get their Kettlebells out of the closet and start working out. Because the Yankees are only looking for the fittest players. As for other free agents, totaling over 150 players, they too need to be in top shape. MLB teams will only sign top fit players, fiscally and mentally. Most of these players will find teams to play for, but their pay could be much lower, after all their getting older and slower. Only a hand full will end up making more, but not much more. What I do know, or think, the Yankees will either take Hideki Matsui or Johnny Damon, not both. Mostly because their both in their mid 30’s, and getting slower. For most of these players we won’t know their fate for about 2 months, so we’ll have to wait to see how everything plays out.

Spending Money

Spending Money!

I was reading a article tonight about one of my favorite actors, Nicolas Cage. The article was about some of the most expensive things he’s purchased over the years. Some of the standard things, yachts, a jet, huge homes and cars. Some of the crazy things, a castle, should get stone sinks for it, comic books worth a million plus, haunted mansions in New Orleans, 2 Bahamanian islands, a $500k Lamborghini once owned by the Shah of Iran. He also filed a $20 million lawsuit against his former business manager, Samuel Levin. Cage claims that his business manager failed to pay taxes on his behalf, which resulted in the IRS to place a tax lien for over $6 million on his New Orleans properties. Me personally I would watch my money like it was no one’s business. Cage should have watch his money more closely. Now I don’t know the whole story here, he very well could have been his managers fault, but come on Cage, you really should stop buying so much crap.
