Bailout For The Public!

Here’s a dose of some good news for everyone. I was just reading that President Bush has finally agreed to possibly doing another stimulus package, for us, the people. In the past President Bush had stated he would veto any stimulus packages. Now it seems that he has finally changed his tune. The main reason behind him changing his mind was because of what Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke had said that the economy needs a stimulus package for the people. Without it the slump that were in will continue to drag on for a long time. I was reading that both parties, the Democrats and the Republicans want a stimulus package, but they’re having a hard time agreeing on what should be in it. The Democrats want to give millions of dollars to cities and towns to build up their infrastructure. By giving these towns and cities this money it would create jobs in those areas, good paying jobs. The Republicans want to give tax breaks to small businesses and corporations and turn higher and roll their employee base. I personally like the way that the Democrats want to take this stimulus package, this would guarantee jobs. Anyway, hopefully they get this package passed soon, because we need it.

Titanic Mementos!

Well it seems that some precious personal belongings are coming up for auction from the Titanic. There’s a lady in London, her name is Millvina Dean, and she’s in need of some money to pay for her nursing home room. She’s the last known survivor of the Titanic sank in 1912. She was two months old when she was lowered in a lifeboat that cold April night. Her family, along with her brother, who was two at the time, were one of the few survivors. Anyway, she will be selling off a suitcase that was full of clothes. The suitcase was given to her and her family as a gift from New Yorkers to help rebuild their lives. I was reading that the suitcase could go as high as $5200 by the end of the auction. If you ask me, she would have a better chance in Las Vegas Nevada then selling off her precious items. Instead of this woman being forced to sell off her items for government should maybe step in and help. I only say this because I was reading that in Britain they have a free health care system for their elderly. Anyway, I’m sure she’ll get the money she needs to continue living in her private room at the private nursing home.

Former Defensive Lineman!

I was just reading online that a former defensive lineman, Chris Mims was found dead in his apartment today. He was found dead by authorities shortly before 9:30 AM this morning. The authorities believe there is no evidence of foul play. I was reading that the police were doing a routine check on him, because someone had called and what their concerns. The coroner’s office so far has declined to release any comment or cause of death. If you don’t know Chris Mims, the San Diego Chargers drafted him in 1992. I can remember watching him play; he was an amazing pass rusher. When the quarterback saw him coming they got down quick. Towards the end of his career, which ended 2000 he had a lot of problems. Anyway, I remember when he was drafted; I even remember when he put the Chargers cap on. And I even remember watching him play, he was good.

Ed McMahon Being Sued!

I was just reading that Ed McMahon; Johnny Carson’s sidekick on the “Tonight” show is being sued. The Griffin Group Inc is filing this newest lawsuit. The Griffin Group Inc. was started by; you guessed it, Merv Griffin. Merv Griffin is also the creator of “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” Merv Griffin died in 2007, and if he was still alive today, this lawsuit wouldn’t even happen. The two men where friends and Merv would of handled it a lot differently. According to court documents not one penny of the $100,000 loan has ever been paid back. Anyway, this won’t be the only lawsuit Ed McMahon will be dealing with. He has so many money problems it’s unbelievable. I would like to know where did all his money go?
