Stocks Start Down

Stocks Start Down!

The market opened down waiting to see how the home sales report looks.  And with the big drop in oil Friday could bounce back today.  If that happens the stocks will be down for the day.  And the dollar is already starting to pull back.  So, if the home sales report is really bad and oil goes up it will be a real bad day on Wall Street.  Not just it’s normal slide up and down, I mean down, maybe 300 points.  I really hope not, but it could have a chance of happening.

Google And Verizon

Google And Verizon!

It appears after a year of Google trying to team up with Verizon there may final be a deal. Google would love to build its search interface into Verizon’s mobile phone service. Not only would they love to be part of Verizon they would love to join others. But right now Google is trying to close the deal with Verizon. I have read that the main hold, which are two reasons. One is, yes you guessed it, revenue sharing. The other reason is Google wants to store information from Verizon’s users, your searches. Anyway, I’m sure Google will get the deal done, they need too in order to stay with Yahoo in the mobile phone software world.

Promotional Products!

I came across a site tonight that offers some pretty cool promotional items.  This site is jammed pack full of promotional products.  Although this company is fairly new they sure look like they have come a long way.  I mean that just from looking at their site they have everything covered.  And I like the fact that their focus is on customer service.  Check them out if you get the chance.

HP Profit Up

HP Profit Up!

Hewlett-Packard Co. did very well in this third quarter earnings report. HP reported that they earned $2.03 billion, or 80 cents per share.  They even shattered Wall Street’s expectations.  HP’s laptop sales and a robust international presence are what pulled them through.  Right now there still the leading provider of personal computers, mostly because of their low cost.  But that might soon changes because of the rising cost of supplies.  They won’t be able to remain at the current profit margin.  I wonder if HP will shift toward cheaper PCs just like the other PC makers.  If they do they will be in the same boat with the rest of the PC makers.
