Stocks Down Again

Stocks Down Again!

Is there any real relief insight for our stock markets?  It’s up; it’s down, more times down than up.  Again, everything is based on growth, which is much lower than everyone had expected.  And the jobless rate is also getting out of control.  I don’t really want to say this but we’re heading for a recession.  Just the other day, in New York State the governor ruled that the state was in a recession.  And that he was going to cut spending by almost 10%.  He did say that he’s not going to raise taxes to get things back under control.  If he raised taxes people will move out of the state, I know I would.  New York already has the highest tax rate in The United States.  Anyway, things need to change fast, everywhere.

Housing Bill

Housing Bill!

Early Wednesday morning before most of us where even out of bed, President Bush signed a housing bill to provide mortgage relief for around 400,000 homeowners. Most of the homeowners are struggling to keep their heads above water. The intent of this new bill is to hopefully stabilize the financial markets. This new bill will definitely help the two big mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They too will have some new guidelines to follow, but won’t have to go out of business. I can only hope that this new bill will work, it has to.

Stocks Jump

Stocks Jump!

Today was a fantastic day on Wall Street.  It seems that everyone was feeling good today. The Dow Jones industrial average rose by 266 points.  The price of oil went down by $2.54 to end at $122.19 a barrel.  Now hopefully we will start to see some savings at the pumps soon.  With the drop at the pumps, this could spark spending at malls.  Man, I sure hope the upbeat of confidence today rolls into tomorrow.  I will be watching and posting on the results of the Dow Jones industrial tomorrow.
